I want to express a deep concern about the withdrawal of the United States from Climate Accord and the World Health Organization ( WHO) , and to make the matter worse, the implications of the immediate funding pause for HIV programs in low- and middle-income countries, under the directive of President Donald Trump.

As an expert in Petroleum and Environmental Law as well as International Law, I can assure you that I have done a lot of research works that delve into the technical aspects of climate stressors and global health systems, so I know right now the world is not just facing an era of chaos, but impending global disasters. A lot of people are going to die.

These programs provide access to life-saving technology for climate change adaptaion in one hand, and HIV therapy to more than 30 million people worldwide. Globally, 39.9 million people were living with HIV at the end of 2023.

Today I had deep level discussions with some friends who are experts and senior officials of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), some of whom are already packing their bags from the agency’s service.

We have the same concern that President Donald Trump Executive Orders have set the world into chaos.

The directive is part of a broader freeze on foreign aid initiated last week.

In a statement on Tuesday, the WHO has noted that “a funding halt for HIV programs could put people living with HIV at immediate increased risk of illness and death and undermine efforts to prevent transmission in communities and countries.”

According to WHO ” Such measures, if prolonged, could lead to rises in new infections and deaths, reversing decades of progress and potentially taking the world back to the 1980s and 1990s when millions died of HIV every year globally, including many in the United States of America”.

“For the global community, this could result in significant setbacks to progress in partnerships and investments in scientific advances that have been the cornerstone of good public health program, including innovative diagnostics, affordable medicines, and community delivery models of HIV care”, according to WHO.

What is more, the United States President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) has been a flagship initiative of the global HIV response since its establishment over 20 years ago.

The U. S funding pause for PEPFAR, which saved more than 26 million lives, will directly impact millions of lives that depend on the predictable supply of safe and effective antiretroviral treatment.

PEPFAR is providing HIV treatment for more than 20 million people living with HIV globally, including 566,000 children under 15 years of age.

Let us not pretend about this. The world cannot do quite functionally on environmental systems and health systems at this time without the United States. The U.S has always remained the Mother Country of the world.

While I call on the United States Government to have a rethink, for the sake of humanity, to have a rethink, for the sake of humanity, I want to advise you, our friends and neighbors living in the least-developed countries and communities, such as Africa, know that while your death might not be a problem, you have loved ones, family members, and communities who may be dependent on you. Start thinking that perhaps the Universe wants humanity to go into spiritual evolution at this time — to live a purer life, a live devoid of sex misuse.

A lot of people, particularly HIV patients are going to die as pharmaceutical companies are going to take serious advantage of humanity — ranging from fake drugs to high cost of medication; as hospitals and pharmacies in least-developed countries will soon run out of supplies.

If you have an indiscriminate sex lifestyle and you haven’t contracted HIV, it’s time to control your sex habit.

If you are married or in civil partnership, and you live carelessly to a point of contracting and transfering STDIs, particularly HIV/ AIDS to your partner, it will tantamount to evil act. You will indirectly be killing your partner.

Afterall, although religious minded people would disagree with me, the truth is, the sole purpose of sex is for procreation. We humans are not animals. We should have control our negative sexual habit.

Even if you believe that you are materially rich, know that a billionaire can turn a poor man at any time. It takes just natural disaster or a government policy for you to become poor if the Universe gives chances. It’s not all about you, think about the right of others. Because STDIs including HIV are forms of environmental crisis.

It is time to regulate sex habit.
